Hiya garmanvsfood family, how we doing? We getting excited for spring? I know I am! Pandemic or not, the clock continues to move, and March is upon us!!! In a few days, I would have worked from home for one year, like a whole year?
Quick back story (ish), remember how I mentioned found out about Lockdown 3 after landing in Malta back in December? Well, my 2-week Christmas break has become a 2-month hiatus and counting lol! It has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least, but we move still! I might do a whole blog about it at some point, talking about life in Malta, considering this will be my new home for the foreseeable future! 😱😏
Malta is open for business (most of it anyway), so we have been exploring the food scene and what not. The best place for Sunday brunch goes to Temptasian, why? because bottomless cocktails folks! Yep, all you can drink cocktails, talk about boozy brunch and I am here for IT! Temptasian is a Asian fusion restaurant showcasing a variety of dishes from Asia and the orients- China, Japan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam. Some of you reading this might be like, well is there a difference? Chinese is Chinese innit? Special fried rice and stir fry noodles? Whislt this is a generalisation as most of the dishes from the orients is denoted by ‘fried rice and noodles’, there are definitely nuances when it comes to ingredients, recipes and cooking syle, yes?
Now that we are all agreed to disagree, one time for the food here! Not going to lie when our waitress brought the menu and said the drinks were bottomless, I was IN! with five choices, duh? Started with cosmopolitan or was it the Tequila sunrise? Ha ha ha.. I forget because I was spoiled for choice!

The temptasian platter was our starter and it was full ON! Duck parcel, crispy rice puffed prawn, pork sate, chicken tikka, sweet corn fritter, chao sticky spareribs, marinated seaweed salad accompanied with sweet chilli, kiko soy and sate.

I mean, with the cocktails flowing who needed any more food right? ha! We had perking duck follow this platter

and no, this was not the main course! Gotta love Asian food, the gift that keeps on giving!!!
Our main course was panang, a Thai chicken dish with pineapple, basil, coriander, onion, chilli, garlic, giner, fish sauce and panang curry paste. Gu Lao Xi which is sweet and sour pork served with fresh pineapple and oriental vegetables. Empal Daging: a sweet and spicy Indonesian style marinated beef in a galangal and tamarind base, cooked with vegetables, samba oelek, kecap manis, onions and garlic. Egg fried rice, Japanese egg fried rice served with beans! And chow mein noodles!

Phew! If you read that and went “jeez that’s a lot of food” it was! Even though these were served in regular portions, we asked for break before having pudding because yeah, we needed the time to regulate ha ha ha!
Pudding was a mango sorbet and coconut icecream which was really yummy! Oh yeah, the cocktails remained flowing too.

Sunday brunch at temptasian, tis a must!
Cheers
